Happy Halloween! Last weekend we celebrated Chimp or Treat at the sanctuary. To celebrate Halloween today, with this video, we bring you the spirit of that event including the utter glee the chimps appear to have at seeing the parade of visitors in costume! Our chimps were treated to not one, but two days of Halloween treats that included pumpkins filled with pumpkin purée which they enjoyed, in addition to the raw pumpkin and seeds. Pumpkin is a great long process time food for them to consume as it is very enriching. They spent hours eating the pumpkin seeds and the stringy pumpkin flesh, which mimics their natural feeding style in the wild.
